2022 Constitution Day

Join us on September 17, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Palm Coast Community Center to learn more about our Constitution

It’s been a great collaboration between our organizations. The Historical Society and The Son’s of the American Revolution are at it again this year with a marvelous reenactment from George and Martha Washington.

But first, some history: Normally, we are grateful to host the Honorable Judge Totten. During our planning, months ago, we were entering the voting season and felt everyone would be best served if we gently side step the event (Judge Totten was running) and made alternate plans. Well, we are very happy with the outcome of the election, and hope Judge Totten will join us for this insightful lecture on how it all started.

The Constitution 1783-1789

George and Martha Washington discuss the origin of the Constitution, from the Treaty of Paris, The Constitutional Convention, the debates and compromises, the establishment of the Constitution, and George taking the Oath of Office. Meet George and Martha Washington!   Bill and Cara Elder are retired teachers after 40 years in education in both Pennsylvania and Florida.   They are historians–1stperson interpreters of George and Martha Washington and have been doing the interpretations for 23 years.
